Kajabi is an e-commerce site-building tool with a difference – it is especially designed for selling content online. Examples of the kind of content that could be sold on a site made with Kajabi would be training courses, books, reports etc.

Kajabi is a dream come true for anyone who wants an all-in-one solution to the problem of setting up an online outlet for their information-based products. If that kind of site is part of your digital marketing strategy then you should be looking at Kajabi.

You get all the tools and services you need, including Email marketing, Payment Processing, Hosting, a wide range of Templates and much more, all included in the single monthly payment. This means that you don’t need to subscribe to any other service to run your business and it could be that Kajabi would fit in very nicely with your digital marketing strategy.

So that means I’m going to recommend it wholeheartedly ? Sorry Kajabi, there are a few reasons why I can’t do that.

The first reason is my aversion to putting my business completely into the hands of a third party. The whole shooting match is built on Kajabi’s platform and hosted by Kajabi – there’s no option to host it on your own servers or with a hosting company. Kajabi are a reputable company, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that anything is likely to go wrong – but it could, and if it did your business goes with it.

The second reason is the cost. The basic plan ($129/month), only gives you 5 products and up to 1,000 emails per month. Only really suitable for the smallest of businesses or for an author wanting a platform to sell an e-book or two. The next plan is a quantum leap up in terms of cost, but not in terms of value. The jump up to the “Pro” plan ($389/month) only allows 100 products over 3 sites and 40K emails per month.

Those concerns aside, this is a top quality product and I know several people who have used it very effectively. As with any product you weigh the pros against the cons and make your own decision.
