There have, historically, been two main barriers to business when considering this kind of marketing automation software – price and complexity. There are established players in the game, Hubspot, Marketo, Infusionsoft and the like but, as good as they are – and they are good – they come at a price and need fairly skilled people to get the most from them. Sendloop has certainly nailed the cost objection with its $9 starter account giving you everything you need for up to 500 contacts but how about the usability? Is it really simple as drag and drop to put an automated campaign together?

I haven’t yet done an in-depth Sendloop review so I can’t answer that with authority but, from my initial investigations, I regret to say that the answer is probably no.

I clicked on the “Automation” tab on the menu only to find a page of tracking codes and the like to install on the website that I would be using. There were no tools for building an automated email campaign that comes anywhere near those provided by the likes of Clickfunnels, Infusionsoft and so on – albeit at a higher price.

Sendloop could no doubt handle simple automation tasks and the use of a tagging system to pick up interactions on the website, once the codes were installed, would certainly help with segmenting the database and sending targeted emails but it certainly doesn’t look that simple to me, and hardly drag & drop simple.

I’d have to say, therefore, that Sendloop should be on your shortlist and you should certainly give it a try – if it’s a fit for you then you’ll get the job done at a very fair price. On the other hand if you are looking to installing you first fully automated marketing machine then I suspect you are going to have to look elsewhere.

Take the free trial, it’s very limited but worth a go but don’t expect fireworks.
